About Me — Marie Laura

I’m Marie Laura, and I build watches with my own hands. My story began at a small desk with a magnifying loupe, a set of screwdrivers, and an old watch I was determined to bring back to life. One careful disassembly led to another, until the rhythm of tiny gears and springs became the rhythm of my days. What started as curiosity grew into a craft I now can’t imagine living without.

Learning the Craft

I learned by taking things apart, studying every bridge and jewel, and putting them back together until the seconds ran true. I trained my hands to feel torque through a screwdriver and to sense when a balance wheel is almost—but not quite—right. Over the years I studied movements, from simple hand-wound calibers to automatics, and taught myself to regulate them to within a few seconds a day. Patience turned into skill, and skill into quiet confidence.

Design I Believe In

I design watches to be worn every day, not kept in a box. Clean dials, honest materials, and comfortable proportions guide every decision I make. If a detail doesn’t improve clarity, durability, or comfort, it doesn’t make it in. The goal is simple: a watch that feels like it has always belonged on your wrist.

How I Build

Each piece is assembled and regulated at my bench. I choose reliable movements, fit sapphire crystals, and use 316L steel or thoughtfully finished cases that stand up to real life. Straps are cut from vegetable-tanned leather that softens with wear, or fitted bracelets I size and finish by hand. Before a watch leaves my bench, I test timing, water resistance (as rated), and check every index, hand, and screw under magnification.

Small Batches, Real Service

I work in small batches so I can give each watch the attention it deserves. That also means I can service what I make—polish a case, replace a crystal, refresh a seal, or bring an old friend back to its beat. A watch should be repairable, not disposable. I engrave a unique serial and keep notes on every piece, so its story can continue.

A Thought on Sustainability

Longevity is my idea of sustainability. I avoid excess packaging, source durable parts, and build with the intention that you’ll wear and maintain your watch for years. Making less—but better—is my way of respecting both you and the materials.
